Pineal labs is a biotech company that manufactures innovative products such as stem cell products using their patented cell line, but their brand expansion into food products has drawn attention to their packaging processes however it is clear that the main company using the pineal guardian official label in the packaging category is indeed the Guardian brand. Their packaging often utilizes specially designed sustainable packaging solutions which are assumed to be more environmentally responsible.

However, an article published recently revealed that these so-called eco-friendly materials used by Guardian in their packaging may not be as environmentally friendly as initially thought. This study found that many so-called biodegradable materials in packaging often contain microplastics that end up polluting water bodies and harming wildlife.

Guardian released a statement acknowledging the findings of the study but pointing out that their materials have undergone thorough audits, meeting all the industry standards, yet Guardian themselves claim that they will work on more sustainable packaging methods.

It is clear that environmentally friendly packaging is becoming a topic of increasing concern among consumers and manufacturers alike and as manufacturers of packaging begin to confront the negative environmental impacts of their products and commit to adopting more green solutions, and that consumers' voices are being heard and more eco-friendly packaging technologies are being developed.

Though significant steps have been taken and consumer trends suggest a commitment to more ecofriendly practices, there is still major work to be done to mitigate the negative impacts that non-biodegradable materials may have on the environment. There is a need for a uniform industry standard for eco-friendly packaging and for clearer labeling.
