If you want to give it a try, it's not a bad little project to get started in single board computers, electronics and learning how to solder. But with the Zero's lack of Wi-Fi and only a single micro USB slot, I could never think of anything practical to do with it. I don't think the idea is 100% a lost cause, but it would need careful planning and experimentation with breadboards, header pins and jumper cables to make sure it works as it should. I can't honestly say this is project turned out 100% the way I wanted it to (as you'll see if you read on) but I think it came out OK in the end. You may wish to add one to the HDMI cable, but it's in there pretty solid and I didn't think it needed one. Because brake cables transmit force rather than position, SIS cable, even if safe, would have no benefit. Though it might not look that way from the state of my website, I can be a bit of a perfectionist at times, and failures can irk me a little (even though I freely admit I'm by no means an expert.

The player is still intermittent in its ability to switch on, and I also noticed that not all of the buttons work anyway; if I can get it to switch on play and then I can usually skip tracks ok, but Stop never works. Additionally, it serves as a minijack/i2c adapter - the main use case for this is to have the ability to connect 16n faderbank, but you could also use 2 TXb to connect i2c between different rows or cases (just remember to keep the distance short). TXb is a 2hp eurorack format powered busboard created by bpcmusic. Teletype provides both, but keep in mind that the earlier revisions (with green PCB) can only support 2-3 followers reliably, and if you get dropped connections or Teletype freezing when using i2c you might want to use a powered busboard. If you have a later revision Teletype (black PCB) you should not need a powered busboard. Its wires stand on end and have no compressive strength without the stiff plastic housing that holds them together. This cable housing is NOT non-compressive but rather a constant length housing. SIS housing has no benefit for downtube attached shifters because the cable bends do not change.

There are plenty of detailed guides elsewhere on how to do all this, but it should be simple enough. The drive before the twist will be drive B while the one on the end will be A. This way, there is no need to "configure" the drives which drive (A or B) are they going to be and what they should listen to.
